Because it's selfish. Your time isn't more valuable than that of the developers already working against that branch (and as stated in the article, there were hundreds). It's your job to merge your changes cleanly.

The quality has nothing to do with Bluetooth, it has everything to do with the digital-to-analog converter. A $25 headset is going to have the cheapest chip the manufacturer could find. Non-Bluetooth headsets don't process digital sign

Yeah, this is just confusing. The supposed economic impact of having illegal immigrants work for less than minimum wage is not going to be worse than the impact of housing, clothing, and feeding them for 2-5 years.

For example, most (all?) browsers do not support the vastly upgraded H.265 yet. If we had ffmpeg, H.265 could've been supported in the browser over a year ago.

I believe re-encoding is limited to 720p. You can still stream the source file. Although, if you have bizarre alien source files, re-encoding is necessary.

Nobody was forced, it's just the most convenient (cheapest, readily available, whatever). Only using truly ethical products is not going to be as convenient. Hence "difficult", not "impossible".
