Have you thought about why having a standard causes all these problems with undefined behavior? The point of a standard is to be less specific than a reference implementation. That's why it's written in English, not code. That mea

If you remove the standard, wouldn't everything naturally be implementation-defined? Like, say, Python.

Is that what you think of Python? How can this be: C has a standard, when many other languages do not. Thus C is "more defined" than other languages. Yet somehow it ends up being less defined. If C had no standard, it would be def

Fun fact: if there were no C language definition, there would be no "undefined behavior."

Thank you for the article! It's too bad that your conclusion, that systemd doesn't/shouldn't matter, wasn't able to be grasped by the community.

Okay, but why is buying a company's stock not the same as bailing it out? If you're "investing" in the business, why does money have to be given to them directly, using a completely different mechanism?

Why aren't shareholders on the hook for bailing out their own companies? They have the financial incentive to protect their own investments. Why is bailing out a compay different from "investing" in it? What is an investment
