Wow, I type Cmd+F for find in path, but I'll try double shift. The keyboard commands in PyCharm are much different from IntelliJ IDE, so not sure if RubyMine is also different.

JetBrains is super startup friendly. While we have been working on our IntelliJ plugin to edit with others in real time JetBrains has given us discounts, engineering help (via their forums), and we have even started talking to their busines

Thank you for the kind comments about floobits, seeing comments like that really means a lot to us. All of us work remotely too, so your blog has some good tips. We use IRC for chat and Shush, a Mac OS X push to talk app has also been very

Depending on faith will probably lead to bad decisions, a rational appraisal of available evidence and some critical thinking will probably be more useful. And let me present some evidence that may destroy any remnant of that faith you have

Version 13 is very awesome. We've been finishing our intellij plugin and are so close to having it be usable that it could be user ready in like 2 days which will be awesome because then I can spend more time using the new intellij. I&

It looks pretty sweet. Microsoft has been very uniform in applying its flat design everywhere. I'm not always a fan of flat, but for the editor it works.

Very nice, we (Floobits YC S13) are also planning to integrate our web based editor with Visual Studio, with real time collaboration and the ability to connect to other types of native editors. Our editor is based on the awesome ace editor

Nice. We also work remotely, but our product is a tool to help engineers work remotely (Floobits YC13). I started this job less than two weeks ago and I am finding myself to be more productive, and overall happier working from home. I have

Core OS is awesome. The problems it is solving (discussed previously on HN see links others have posted) are needed. This is the kind of idea that's really going to change deployment and managing distributed applications and services f

Quite a lot has been accomplished by just that, opening an editor and typing in code. It's what it all comes down to, and it's why startups can take the lunch from big corps who lose competency in opening an editor and typing in g

It probably made more sense to have 20% time when Google didn't have tens of thousands of engineers. When you have a few hundred really smart people all working in the same building back in the early 2000's in Mountain View, it wa

Very cool. We're using Asana and love it, but there's always room for innovation in task management. Also yclist.com is way behind all the S13 announcements, who is maintaining that list?

It's probably going to be more than a year before Rust is ready for productive software at the current rate and given the breadth of what's missing. There is a lot of passionate activity so it will probably make it, hopefully mayb

It's not so much the rate of change, but maybe just how much stuff is missing that has to be supplemented by bringing in C libraries, which is totally OK. Rust is going to take a long time to mature, much longer than Go for example, be

One problem for a vim user like me is emac's terrible first use experience. The delete key doesn't delete, it opens up help [1] and quitting is very difficult [2]. Also what people don't know at first start is which key is th

I tried to give Rust a try to build some stuff but my project required HTTP and there's no easy SSL solution in place right now. Hope it comes along. I don't have time to contribute much otherwise I would.
