I hope more software comes out that use Dropbox for storage. I want an Instagram for Dropbox, a music locker with a player for Dropbox, a Skitch for Dropbox, an Xmarks bookmark sync for Dropbox. One Password, Hackpad, O'Reilly Media, and no

When Experts Exchange does this, everyone loathes and ridicules this, but some how Quora is better? It is the same tactic. For a time I found the community on Quora enjoyable, but the site is aimless, demands too much like real names, makes

What is the latency like developing in vim over ssh? I would find the little bit of wait with each key stroke annoying quickly.

What happened between 1998 and 1999 that flipped the percentage so dramatically in favor of IE? Was it all the new people joining the internet for the first time who simply clicked the blue e instead of installing netscape or did people aba

Eventually everyone's editor search ends with vim, emacs or a management position. All these editors like Sublime Text 2, Chocolat, Light IDE, Cloud9, etc fail at very basic task: sticking around. They also fail at another task: being avail

Nope, because: (engineer * number of engineers) - (average monthly payment * number of customers) < 0 An engineer's salary at a small startup is at the very least $50,000, let's just round that down to $5,000 a month, so how long do you

What's wonderful about science is that the facts don't change just because someone doesn't understand them or misrepresents them. It's just the cold hard truth of our universe. Regardless of what anyone says or wants, the world is as it is.

Flot actually leaks quite a bit. We use flot at work and I had to hack the code to keep it from leaking. It doesn't leak as bad as NVD3, but it leaks. You will see it never surrenders the canvas element if you call shutdown on it if you che

NVD3 leaked memory terribly. For us creating and removing a small number of charts quickly ate memory in the tens of megabytes. While the code was readable, it was not a very efficiently written library. I also took issue with how it used a
