I don't know. Earning conference call happens at 5pm EST, after the market closes. Just saying that if you're an investor as opposed to a short-term trader, there isn't that much difference between 500 and 550 if it's going up to 1000, and

I already own 10 shares of AAPL way before it went up to 500/700. Not selling anyway. Just saying... I'm not a trader in any way or form.

Absolutely. If someone else (preferably rich) thinks that $500 doesn't justify true value of Apple, he could buy in the market, and good luck to short-sellers to borrow so many to sell. My guess is that it's just some insider selling, and i

The point of Java is that it has access to things at system level. If you don't need that, use HTML.

I can only speak for myself, but as what andrewem also mentioned, I have been getting emails from recruiters too albeit at a lower frequency of about once a week. I got my current job 6 months before graduation. Won't call C++ a niche area.

I highly disagree with that statement. Personally I'm a recent CS grad, and I don't know any of my classmates who is unemployed. I also wouldn't describe my current job as "pay is bad, the benefits are worse, and the competition is high" be

The bootcamp is a very good idea. 4 weeks should be enough for people with programming experience to get a basic idea of how RoR works. I especially like the "1:1 Mentoring" idea. Personally I learned a lot from small group (2-3 students to

$0.50 per chip is HUGE. This is not the ultra-expensive Intel Core i7. ARM makes only $.10 per licensed chip[1] [1] http://www.quora.com/ARM-Processor-Architecture/How-much-doe...

I agree in principle. However, sometimes it is useful to bundle things together if that's how things work in the real world, like Ruby on Rails + Github + Heroku in a RoR book. Then again, it would be counter-productive to add in totally ir

lots of formatting features, easy to version control, able to convert to print book and pdf easily, fully text based thus more predictable, and so on. LaTeX can be used for any document from CV to an entire book.

The same reason why you need more than 640K of RAM. Unlimited wants vs limited resources. Put in what you can and what is possible because wants are unlimited.

This is absolutely ridiculous given how hard China has tried to woo foreign investment. Now what's going to happen to companies that run on Google Apps and their employees who are used to having Google/Facebook/Twitter?

this is probably unrelated but can anyone explain why the size of the 1080p video is so much larger than the 720p one? (1920x1080) / (1280x720) = 2.25 while 1.6 x 1024 / 237.3 = 6.9
