But it has nothing to do with Valve. Personally I don't see what's wrong with proprietary drivers as long they work. You also need proprietary drivers on Windows and Mac OS X.

I live in Boston, MA, and I have not shopped at a Wal-mart except when I was in China. I'm quite optimistic that other supermarkets will be able to fill its shoes if Wal-mart were to fail. Perhaps Wal-mart is not a good example. My poi

Not a good idea. Wal-mart has over a million employees, but is not too big to fail. Problem with the financial sector is that everything is inter-connected. Long Term Capital Management was deemed too big to fail, yet the number of employee

It did. First paragraph in fact > Recent press coverage has asserted that RSA entered into a “secret contract” with the NSA to incorporate a known flawed random number generator into its BSAFE encryption libraries. We categorically deny

Apple showed off Mac Pro with 4k screens, and advertised that the machine supports 3 4k monitors. They have to ship their 4k monitors soon.

I totally agree. It doesn't make any sense. Now people who buy Mac Pro need to buy 4k monitors from Dell and/or ASUS.

Everyone in my office has a workstation under the desk. Note that it's a workstation not a server. So people do care about form factor, power usage, and acoustics.

So is HP. My point is that it's not uncommon for a workstation class computer to have 64GB memory limit in 2013.
492.
by btian 13y ago
It's limited by the system rather than OS. I'm typing on an HP Z420, and there's a 64GB limit too. Nothing to do with Windows and Mac OS.

Rightfully so. For instance, a new manufacturer comes in, and has high costs due to inefficiencies and lack of economies of scale, how does that help me in making decisions? While low prices can make purchase more compelling, the lack of pr

Does your phone support LTE? Does it run a modern version of Android? Does it have a modern SoC? Does it sync with my Fitbit? Is it widely available in the US? Can I get after sales support?

why does it have any effect on if people should be excited about Dart? You can compile C++ to C but that doesn't mean they're the same language.

Because Tesla is supply constrained. There is simply not enough production capacity.

When did Google try to force Dart down your throat? Just because Angular is being ported to Dart? Seriously? Are you saying that Dart developers don't deserve Angular?
503.
by btian 13y ago
Well Dart can be compiled to JavaScript. What's not open source about Dart or Angular?

Thanks for the link. Yes I really wish that any of the mayoral candidates in Boston (where I live) would make gigabit Internet a priority rather than just being "tough on crime".
