Do you know how the .4% gets split? I watched a Khan Academy video quite a while ago, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nRzTaWZ6ebs and Sal says the interchange fees charged by banks is on the order of 2%.

Yeah, just like selling alcoholic beverages on Sunday morning is a victimless crime. I think governments can be pretty illogical at times.

Well, in the US you also get $7500-$10000 worth of tax credits depending on the state that you live in, and you also save on maintenance and fuel. I can see the Model 3 selling in California for $35k after tax credits (which is $45k before)

I'd be very surprised if that's the case because the car would then be way cheaper than BMW 3-series.

Just describe what you do. Web designer / front-end programmer etc. Please don't call yourself web architect unless you're involved in W3C standards...

No. If maximizing next quarter/year's profits is Google's primary goal, then the logical thing will be to slash R&D, cut back on benefits, eliminate CapEx, basically what Mark Hurd did to HP. If you mean Google has to mak

Google’s mission is to organize the world’s information and make it universally accessible and useful. There's nothing in the mission statement about making money...

It doesn't make any sense for ads team to lie. If the accusations are true, relevant employees can simply become a whistle blower, and collect bounty (i.e., a percentage of fine that Google will need to pay).

$60000 is basically after tax income if your pre-tax income is $120k. Also 8% growth a year is quite a stretch given that risk free rate is 2.64% (10-year treasury yield), and inflation eats 2% a year...

No, just pointing out that processed silicon does not cost Intel anything close to $1000. Also I doubt R&D cost for an electric motor is high because the technology is mature.

It doesn't cost $1000. What you're paying for is R&D. Just like a Windows 8 DVD doesn't cost hundred of dollars to make

What? Police (ordinarily) cannot throw you in jail without probable cause. If you're taped committing a crime, members of the public can just forward the tape to the police, and you'll end up in jail anyway.

I don't think there's anything wrong with police recording the streets though. At least in the US, anyone has the right to record in public places. Why shouldn't the police be able to do the same?

First, I think wearing cameras protect law enforcement persons from wrongful complaints that can damage their careers. It's still better to have them wear cameras. They can definitely "lose the recording", but what do you thi
