I had a similar problem and something that really opened my mind was to realize how angry I was. I was just an angry man waiting for the world to change in order to satisfy my needs. I read one book that completely opened my mind, probably

Everyone is different but for me it’s about being driven by something I deeply believe in, while getting quick results along the way (to maintain the momentum for a long period of time). As an example, working for someone else in order to g

The reason for this back then was a slower internet connection. If Google had the bandwidth when they first started they would have inserted images and videos to their search results and ads.

Have you ever visited their campus in Menlo Park? :) you’ll see young and fresh employees all over the place.. they finished their new campus next to their old buildings and are now building another campus next to the new campus. On top of

Sure, we just use SV as a great example of places located in the middle of nowhere with tones of potential for Tech Giants. Look at the FB campus in Menlo Park, the median employee age is 28 years old. Now look around the campus... it'

Playing devil's advocate to your devil's advocate play, isn't it better when a tech giant opens up a new campus in a not-so developed area? This brings new jobs, raises equities, increase resources, etc. We're talking pl

You’re only pointing out one little consequence of that bubble. It doesn’t fix the actual problem. Sure, I know people who live in Sacramento and work in Cupertino, I let you do the maths. Trust me it’s not about being an idiot who needs fi

Silicon Valley for instance is sitting on top of a giant swamp. In the 70’s it looked like the middle of nowhere. In 2018, it looks like a bunch of office buildings and strip malls. Is this attractive? Young folks are looking for the fame

Great pieces of advice but it’s like asking a sales person to learn how to code. My best advice and where I believe engineers should spend 100% of there energy up front, is to go out there and find a cofounder who’s primary skill is to sell

I have one advise for you, don't assume that because a candidate is more senior than you, he or she should at least know what you know. Try instead to learn something interesting from the candidate. At the end of your lunch, if you lea
