I've been using StumbleUpon's OpenTSDB ( http://opentsdb.net ) with much success, and it looks like StatsD could easily be modified to work with it. The biggest pain with OpenTSDB I've had is that it requires an HBase/Hadoop backend, but a

Does this remind anyone else of the Tralfamadorians analogy from Kurt Vonnegut's Slaughterhouse-Five? I can't find the relevant quote...

Same, except I don't plan to learn coffeescript, anyway. As a full-stack developer, I can't see the benefit of learning yet another 'language' if I can just write JavaScript. I have enough syntax rules to remember as it is.

Agreed. Even if you did find a usb port somewhere, this 'cord' isn't long enough to let you use the iPhone while it's charging, anyway. I also don't like the idea of my iPhone hanging from a usb wall adapter.

Coincidentally enough, I just got an email from a Flashpoint contact asking about the startup I applied with last year, and encouraging me to apply again.

Flashpoint's homepage: http://flashpoint.gatech.edu/ I applied for the first cohort last year, but didn't make the first cut (I do remember the application being almost a carbon copy of YC's). I was disappointed at the lack of hustle demo

Great idea. I've thought of doing something similar for an HTML editor, because—like with Lisp—the nesting can become a nuisance.

I had thought of maybe running reports to show the user if she consistently over- or underestimated the amount of time needed for tasks, but I have no idea how I could predict these time estimates. Any ideas? I any case—I agree. It would be

The first thing I would do is use it/test it within my current workplace. I am scratching my own itch (and an itch my colleagues have, as well) so if we didn't find it useful, it would be time to reconsider things.

Thanks! That's definitely getting there. It would be even better if I could do it in the browser, with simpler challenges to start out. Maybe a few intro tutorials or the like.

I actually do find 'todo management' methods to be useful, if only to the extent that they help me figure out what I should be working on right now . When faced with multiple overlapping projects/clients/deadlines, it can be very difficult

I was in a similar boat about 4 months ago...I said 'fuck it' and just started coding. I've never regretted it. Sure, you'll make mistakes. You'll get stuck. You might have to throw away 3000 lines of code and start over, like I did. But th
