To be clear, MUI is a third-party library inspired by Material Design. Google itself has shipped various iterations of Material components (first Polymer, then MDC Web, and finally the Material Web Components from the original Polymer team)

When Matias was in charge of Material, he said the purpose of design guidance isn't to raise the peaks but to fill the valleys. An expert can come up with something that's more appealing/usable than slinging the components t

For the last 2 decades, reddit and its ilk have been pseudonymous. You might mostly be careful not to give too much context about your daily life, but every once in a while, maybe you leak a little detail. Unless you run for President, no

It's been <20y since YouTube was acquired for $1B, which felt like an imaginary valuation at the time, but it was for a company that actually had traction with users. Inflation-adjusted, this acquisition is worth 4x that for… vibes

Sam and Elon are both ethically dubious power players who seem to be really good at inside dealing to benefit themselves, while all the other people in their companies just have to deal with it. As I write this out, it reminds me of another

Jon Stewart did a gag in this week's episode where there were happy meal toy versions of a bunch of congressmen on screen for a few seconds. A lot of content is like this - you just need an approximation to sell an idea, not a perfect

Uber Shuttle leaves from Atlantic Terminal, which is also the home of the LIRR. It's a train that goes to the airport on a fixed schedule. More comfortable and reliable than the Subway for $2 more.
