I can't really think of Scottish poetry these days without remembering William McGonagall. Here's his incomparable "The Tay Bridge Disaster": https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Tay_Bridge_Disaster

I was also a happy Demon user for some years from the mid-nineties... having your own hostname and IP address (which, weirdly, I can still remember) always felt so luxurious!

It's funny how this advice - to use either Zen or A&A if you conceivably can - hasn't really changed for about twenty years. (I used A&A in London a decade ago and they were great, albeit a bit expensive.)

I concur with your reasoning and I've also observed this phenomenon with "text" and "texted", in the sense of "to send an SMS", eg. "I texted her earlier but she never replied"; most people I kno

If the only thing keeping you awake at the wheel is having the radio on, rather than driving you should be having a break (for some people, a coffee and a micro-nap will work wonders).

I agree with you, though perhaps if you don't know what "CDP" stands for ("customer data platform"), you're maybe not in the market for one. The only company I've really heard of in this space is Segment,

My 7-year-old came home recently with several maps with a continent on them marked, variously, either as "Australia" or "Oceania". My wife and I were both confused since we had been taught that this was called "Aus

It's a cliché and it's meaningless - it's not like you see "Made with hate" or "Made with indifference (but at least it covered my mortgage payments)".

"Scuppered" means to prevent from succeeding—also to sink a ship deliberately. I was quite interested to learn this, because I would always have used the word "scuttled" for the deliberate sinking of a ship.

I studied Latin and French from the age of 11. When I spent a year in Bologna as a student on the Erasmus scheme (studying Latin, in fact), I can assure you that my schoolboy French was the more useful of the two as a starting point for
