I generally try to aim for 80, but have 120 as my "hard" limit. In find it a good place to have two files open side by side and still have a little bit left over for editor UI stuff.

I had a similar experience upgrading my laptop(though I initiated the upgrade on purpose). Just crapped out, but an apt install -f followed by a dist-upgrade fixed it all and it seems to have worked.

For Chromebooks that's a problem, but if I'm not mistaken, the "cloudbook" moniker is meant for Windows Laptops with Chromebook-like hardware(though the name may cover Chromebooks too, I'm not sure). In those cases,

I used it back when OpenOffice was just too slow and bloated to use very well on most computers I owned ~10 years ago and earlier. But through a combination of improved OpenOffice/LibreOffice performance and faster computers, I finally

Mostly tried it and got used to it. I liked the defaults a lot more than I do vim(nothing some plugins, a good .vimrc, etc can't fix), and I found it much more natural to use extensions that I ever did vim, so once I got Atom matching

I'm a long time vim user who's switched mostly to Atom(at least for bigger projects, vim is still my "quick fix" editor). Last time I tried VS Code(6ish months ago?), I liked it all right, but stuck with Atom because at

I think I'm going to give this a shot on my daughters Chromebook. I tried Ubuntu on in a couple of times, but it always seems that updates are a moving target. I had to do a reinstall and had to try to find the right kernel version whe
