Additionally, two feels like a really strange number. I would think three for a tiebreaker would be standard for any sensor with that much impact (no pun intended).

For what it’s worth, dual stack with IPv6 + DNS64/NAT64 would be a great solution here, as well. SLAAC and a /64 would make it pretty unlikely for this kind of failure mode to occur.

Purely a data point, and not meant to be persuasive, but I bought a heat pump dryer this year, largely because of the ventless operation. Dryer lint fires are frightening. Heat pumps could save money in new construction by reducing the amou

Discoverability is a problem. The average hobbyist website has no chance of making it to the top of the pile of search-engine-optimized trash websites that are returned by search engines. For example: Quora often takes up half of my results

The conversation is absolutely more nuanced than most of these articles/blurbs usually mention. Beyond the well-defined hard costs, does it benefit the company more to save money on a cloud footprint, but put that same money into manag

The fact that you had to explain how it works indicates that a bit more consistency might be beneficial.

I can’t speak to the second point, but I’d look for OOM events in dmesg for the crashes.

I really wish this attribute was never added. The idea that a site owner should have that much control over my browser’s behavior is completely contrary to the concept of what a User Agent is intended to be. I’ve never seen a legitimate use

Tell me about it. I used to climb rock faces. Now stairs make me pale with fear of injury. It would be great to know what _else_I could do to stay healthy. I do about 4.5-6 miles a day walking my dog. Hopefully that’s enough.

Perhaps we need to spend some time working on the mental health of those who bully others. At the moment, we seem to, mostly, turn a blind eye to it, or use “zero tolerance” policies (which, IMO, are even more harmful to the victims than th

Assuming a “proper” solution exists. There are many world views that conflict with each other, and quite a few of those have the belief that they must “save” the people who have not reached their own “enlightened” viewpoint.

We must have different definitions of the word “clearly”. I’ll take that full model in a heartbeat, but I suspect many others would disagree.

At least for the time being, I’ll put my trust in Crayola for that, rather than OpenAI. Alternatively, if we really must have children interacting with image generation, it seems like a great opportunity for parents to have some bonding tim

Unfortunately, when the CIO screams about deadlines and people want to keep their jobs, most of that goes out the window.

Or we could treat people like human beings and get rid of this idea that only children are harmed by social media and the constant bombardment of advertisers and “influencers”.
