Indeed it is how blockchain works within crypto currencies. I find it interesting that many participators (i.e. OP) don't understand how unsafe their coins are and this has to be explained as such by the commentator. Admittedly, perhap

This is nothing new. Most are aware of the general issues with crypto currency security. Interesting comment from network code maintainer.. We maintain the blockchain, which facilitates the transactions, nothing more... If we had to revert

IIRC, Black also checks byte code before and after formatting to ensure source code functionality is unaffected.

In terms of veganism. Some will, some won't. It depends. Some vegans will be against any suffering and might consider the harvesting of cells from the progenitor animal. Others may be against this due to a lack of consent (from the ani

I'm not sure I buy your argument. For example, pigs have an average lifespan of 15-20 years but in a farm setting are slaughtered at 6 months old. Also I suspect a pig is more adapted to its natural environment than living in a confine

That's better than adding my extraneous terms. How did you add the programming language filter? I've now also noticed there's a "programming" category which perhaps is similar but looks different to your link ( http

Of course, if you delete the Rust and Dart terms you'll see there's still no trend winner between Zig or Nim.

This was my very non-scientific way of trying to decide between Nim & Zig as a new systems language to experiment with. The plan was to choose the one trending the most. I added Rust and Dart as established comparisons. I also added the

I was more expecting '1111' / 4 = '1'. This would be the inverse operation. However, it opens up even more questions like what to do if your string has mixed values etc

I use this plugin for my jupyter notebook git integration. It has a git diff option that's useful but gets very slow for complex documents. Perhaps under the hood it's using one of the other tools mentioned in the postscript. htt

Of course you can't compare apples with bananas - I'm not daft. I was simply looking for percentage similarity in controlling something (i.e. ~50% of world trade, ~50% of world internet search). It amusing on how having a little f

Many are using these alternatives. For example, a computer model for cardiotoxicity has higher accuracy than animal models. https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/28955244/ It's an educational process. A lot of folk just

I didn't say that. There are a many alternatives to animal models before "jumping to human trials directly", e.g. testing on human cells & tissues, human-based computer models (like those used for cardiotoxicity) and more

Actually it's probably the opposite. Using animal models can lead to drugs that are not safe or effective for humans and it can lead to drugs being rejected that might have been safe or effective. 92% of drugs which prove promising in

I think I might be missing your point. Instead of calling super().foo() why not use explicit super(self.__class__, self).foo()? Afaik super uses some runtime binding to set the parameters so if one's skipping that execution due to monk

I've been surprised how nationalist some older Chinese expats are. In particular, I found some older HKers were very pro PRC. This was all before the Umbrella Movement. I put it down to becoming more conservative as you age (anecdotal

Anyone else curious about the ages of the defendants? 59, 73 and 62 years old respectively. Is it harder for the PRC to recruit younger "spies" or are older ones just more reliable?

Actually, those eye drops are to treat presbyopia which uses a different mechanism. Presbyopia typically affects older people and presents as long-sightedness (not short-sight like I described earlier). Presbyopia causes the lens in the eye
