Not just you, it's immediately obvious as an AI image, it's got the piss filter and all kinds of telling details. Detecting AI images like this should be a basic skill at this point.

I use the magnifier on iOS to examine small electronics on a PCB, or other small detailed things. Similarly, on MacOS I use the Zoom feature (Command Key + mouse scroll) to pixel peep when doing graphical work.

Should be, OpenGL still runs on MacOS.

Great writeup, I am constantly forgetting the little details of clip space and homogenous coordinates. I work with graphics just infrequently enough where it's not 100% in my head, so this was a good refresher.

> I've never in my life been served a plate of food that perfectly matched the picture unless it was a user-uploaded image You can get damn close in Japan. I've even had situations where the food looks _better_ than the photos.

Yeah how dare he suggest you improve yourself or learn more about the thing you seem to be interested in operating. I could understand if we were on a website about technology and curiosity, but this is just hacker news.

Also came here specifically to make sure this was posted. I'd pay good money to go to a bowling alley like this with friends.

Just letting you know you're not alone in coding by hand.

I'd be interested to see how Vello compares if it were to be dropped into WebKit as the main rendering engine.

Wow, the UI on that weather app is slick! Well done to whoever designed/implemented it.

I work on software and a bit of hardware for my job, at tonari. It's basically a low latency video "portal" to connect spaces. My most recent hardware project was to add an OLED display + rotary encoder dial to the product. T

OshPark's quality is high, but their prices are certainly higher too. Good to support them though if you live in the States, since that's where they manufacture the boards.

Wow, very very similar to my first PCB, a breakout board for the TSL4531. I ordered it from OshPark back in 2016. Used the exact same soldering iron, and a Quick hot air station, though it's the less fancy one than you have. https:&#x

It's weird. I get that growing up in a nurturing household is a privilege, but I'm not sure the answer is to hook up kids to AI. Maybe some form of it could be beneficial, but it just seems too ripe for abuse, and/or too easy

We should get our top frontier models on the task. Perhaps they can devise a motorized finger contraption to push the button without human intervention.

I hope they can find a way to keep them, it would certainly garner a lot of goodwill. Not like people will stop taking their trains because the melodies are gone, though... For the digital flipboard on the Keikyu line, it's nice they d

This is great! I read through the paper and watched the video, I want to try implementing this in wgpu. For pixel-aligned 2D text, I'm wondering if a hybrid approach would be good, where you use traditional glyph atlases for smaller fo

Microsoft, as always, has no taste. And they think they can MBA their way into making fun games. The Xbox was my main gaming platform from around 2005 to 2018, and the experience got worse and worse as time went on. At this point in time, I

My first WiFi router :) I bought it in anticipation of the Nintendo DS having WiFi capabilities, which I had never heard of before (I was like 13 or 14 then). Had to convince my parents to get broadband internet too.

I don't have any commenting tactics except spotting the opportunity to slip in a joke. I think it's kind wild that a big thread raging about furries has spawned from the blog post of a hardware company making some quirky RF hardwa

I was just about to type the same thing. There's no way this isn't AI-generated, I've had conversations with ChatGPT to learn about some matrix math and solving systems of equations, and this feels like a carbon copy of some

No kidding, it drives me crazy. The tone is always so authoritative and dramatic, like every fact is a mic drop moment. I need to get back to writing some of my own articles I've been meaning to write, as a palate cleanser.

Thanks for at least making a CLI in Rust instead of Python. Their gcloud CLI is so annoying (and slow) to use.
