Writing programs that will never grow beyond 150LOC, or roughly what fits on a screen + one page down I've written Python for years, I think I gave it due credit for what it's good at. I'm not sure how fair this assessmen

PEP 479 might be what GP was referring to: https://www.python.org/dev/peps/pep-0479/ PEP 479 is specifically related to generators: > If a StopIteration is about to bubble out of a generator frame, it is r

I have manually added swap on SSD VPS nodes that come without it by default. I was under the impression that the hosting providers were trying to preserve the hardware. Is swap space still bad for SSD drives?

I haven't found a multi-protocol IM that supports Slack without loading the Slack app entirely. E.g. Rambox just renders the Slack app. https://rambox.pro/#home I used to use Pidgin to connect to several communication

I also appreciate Vue's simple elegance. It is a breath of fresh air, amidst all the dust and commotion of the JavaScript ecosystem's tooling bloat and constant reinvention, that Vue can just be dropped in to ant standard HTML pag

Could someone convince the higher-ups to add back some form of federated protocol to Slack, so third party clients can access the conversations? I really miss being able to communicate via a light-weight, open-source, multi-protocol IM clie

Ah dang. Requires a bundler. I am really just wanting to enhance an existing HTML template. It seems many of the JS frameworks add a lot if, IMHO unnecessary, complexity.

Thanks for the suggestion. Really great work keeping the framework so tiny! :-) Can Preact just be "dropped in" to an existing HTML template, like jQuery?

Yeah, I really like the idea of Svelte. I'm just coming from the perspective of wanting to sprinkle in a little JS in my development flow, and avoid pre-processors or compilers, if possible.

Good perspective. I can probably stick with the 20KiB Vue dependency, particularly when it doesn't require any build system or other dependencies.

Correction, Vue minified and gzipped seems to be around 20k, so might still be my best bet for sprinkling declarative DOM manipulation into the static HTML. Is there perhaps a library in the 2k-5k range, or somehow a way to use only specifi

I'm wanting to enhance a server-rendered template with a bit of JavaScript to fetch data from the server and update the DOM. I like that Vue can be "dropped in" to any HTML page, like jQuery, without completely taking over th
