Rather impressive, and congrats on the partnerships! I would really try to showcase the features through a user narrative (this is a novel writing app after all!) and lots of screenshots of novels in progress with the app. Also, photos of t

I run a similar service called BitBuffet that delivers those one-use download links after payment, its linked to PayPal and is very easy to setup. If any HN'ers want to give it a spin on your next project that involves digital downloads, le

Check out http://ninite.com/ . The name is extremely forgettable (I have it bookmarked under mass installation), but it lets you install dozens of Windows apps with one click!

Is there a tutorial on learning simple one liners like this? I find myself frustrated after seeing simple and obvious solutions like the above, but can never bring myself to code them as such.

I agree with a lot of advice here, especially those that point out that your own initiative is most important, but I would recommend my site: http://everymentor.com/ A lot of folks around Hacker News are probably aware of it (because I br

Thanks for the feedback, right now it is HEAVILY weighted towards hackers and such (my main push has been in Hacker News) although one girl found a wedding designer match. That's kind of unexpected!

A lot of folks signed up for multiple accounts. Just think, finding some with the exact mirror of you might be difficult, but you could fill both roles with two different "mentors". But, I still totally see your point. During streamlining,

At risk of tooting my own drum (did I say that right? ;-), you could always sign up at http://EveryMentor.com and try to get matched to a mentor there. I envision it as the online equivalent to a workout buddy. There are a couple hundred

Oddly enough, I had a blind customer call me to ask something about my service BitBuffet. She sold music online through us and took a minute after I solved her problem to tell me how great my site was for the blind. I had no idea! I just fo

Have you thought about all the legitimate uses for a capital market? Say, issuing stock to fund a plant that will make a product? No one denies that investors will play equities for short term gain, but for every one of those there are more

But would you be targeting an sector as attractive to the investors as Google? The investors weren't worrying about the making "just anything" useful or profitable. They wanted Google profits and Google uses.

I spend weeks and weeks deciding on a name. So far I've had Rankiac and BitBuffet, both of which were almost 80% completed before I ever had the domain. EveryMentor wasn't available and I had to WAIT for the domain to expire for about 20ish

Once again, by moving a crucial portion of the game online, you can mitigate the effectiveness of a pirated game while being able to deliver content that enhances the game for everyone. The problem is, what if I want to play it on a flight?

You can have the attitude of "just a job" and still be a valuable asset to a company. To some people, work is "just work" and sometimes the "just a job" mentality is an extension of that. If you ask me, its called life balance. It's just a
