Please don't get me started on Odoo. We've tried to use Odoo as the base system for an ERP for a customer from us. We've started with OpenERP (7 ? - the last version). It looked pretty good - there were books available which

We had the same discussion in my office. If I am developing a feature (in a separate branch) - why shouldn't I rebase to make a single commit out of this feature ? Is this really interesting for you that it took me 10 commits to do sO

I didn't had any problems with Jack or plugins - the problem with 3.x was Midi editing. Well it was introduced in this release, but I did some drum programming (our drummer was sick, so we've programmed drums to our music) and it

I am a big advocate of Ardour. But I really hope they get their act together and stop adding new features, but start making the release more stable. The last really stable and great version for me was the last of the 2.x releases. They impr

Have you ever tried ninite ( https://ninite.com/ ) ? Not perfect at all - but at least it works for some of the freeware utilities / programs I'm using on my windows PC. Simply run the generated exe to install the p

I have a feeling every time something is called a "snack" in headlines like this it's probably pretty bad for you. My mother never allowed us to eat chips or other junkfood as snacks during the day. We ate them on special occ

Well it may be a bad time to start with Debian unstable, when they are switching to systemd (or are in the process of doing it). I remember updating to Debian testing (never had the nerves for unstable) when they switched to Gnome3 and I ex

My grandparents were farmers - and they've always had breakfast. They had to get up early to milk the cows. I don't know their exact morning routine, but they had breakfast before or after milking the cows in the morning (I would

It makes the model simpler, but I found this pretty cumbersome. I wanted to write a method returning two values (Boolean), so I had to return an array of Booleans. Out parameter seem easier for me (and more concise)

coming back to Java, after some years of programming C# I have the same feeling. C# feels like Java done right. Many of Java's shortcomings can be masked with a great IDE (making setters and getters) nobrainers - but I prefer C#.

I really wonder if LibreOffice is not totally adequate for the users in the city of Munich. I know that it has its problems if you want to use it with Word generated documents, and it obviously has problems with add-ons developed for Word.
