I was reminded of Robert Anton Wilson's 'experiments' with E-prime http://www.nobeliefs.com/eprime.htm Any other RAW fans on HN? I'm sure there are plenty of people who dislike him actively on HN as well. :D

Here's an interesting tidbit of canadian culture. As mentioned above in Quebec Pepsi outsells Coke by quite a bit. This is how the "peppers" nickname for Quebecers came to be. Or at least that how the legend goes.

There's definitely a lot of interesting stuff happening in Montreal these days. Notably Founder Fuel which is bound to shake things up over the next few years. Why are you surprised? There is a ton of creative work coming out of QC.

jQuery UI: If you're building a "web 2.0" type web application, jQuery UI is a good fit in my experience. It is lightweight for a UI library and if you're already familiar with jQuery you'll feel right at home. I'm working on such an applic

During the summer 2 friends of mine and I put together a Brian Eno cover band, just for fun. We learned our favorite songs from his rock era and played a couple of shows. It was really amazing to strip down his songs to a point where a tr

I'm impressed that you still use hardware samplers. It's pretty much the first thing that I would think of replacing with a computer (quasi unlimited sampling memory, unlimited storage, etc). I have a S2000 somewhere, gathering dust...

I listen to a lot of music that some would call noise and here's my 2c on the subject. It is much like being a kid who doesn't like brocoli. It tastes revolting at first, you can't imagine anyone liking it, etc. Sure enough your parents fo

Brought back memories to me as well but I loved my computer class! It wasn't really a computer class, it was more like sit in front of computers and here are some books. This was in grade 2 for me, using Comterm MAX computers.
