This very little evidence that diet affects acne. I'm glad you found a solution, but food probably had little to do with it. Especially "greasy" food, which is one of the items they list on their website. They also say that a

I just checked this out. It's a dermatologist. They offer benzoyl peroxide and salicylic acid, which are standard solutions. This is nothing special.

I grew up with cystic acne that persisted into my early 20s, until two courses of Accutane cleared it up. Anecdotally, I tried everything before going on accutane. I cut out sugar to the point of avoiding fruits with high glycemic indexes.

There absolutely is. For a company to be valuable, it must return more profit to shareholders than they put in. The P/E ratio indicates how long it will take for this to happen.

Yes. Any public company must ultimately pay a dividend to be valuable. Edit: All of my responders are ignoring my use of "ultimately". A company can certainly invest in growth, but growth only matters if the company eventually ret

Network effects occur when usage increases the value of the product, as with Google or Facebook. With Netflix, usage does not increase value. It instead creates more revenue, enabling Netflix to invest in fixed costs, creating scale economi

Strictly speaking, these are scale economies, not network effects.

Does all music distract you or just music with lyrics? Do you know music theory? I'm only distracted by lyrics, but maybe I knew more about music, I'd be distracted by instrumentals.

If a function writes to a DB, yes, that's a side effect. I think you're conflating "scope" and "purpose".

You're correct, but would you agree that poverty is a better predictor for hardship in the USA than race? In other words, would you agree that a poor white person has a much harder life than a rich black person? Having much experience

It is for modern commercial products, yes. And while there's some fragmentation and hacks that justify derision, it's not that bad. Any complex software component needs a package manager and a build system.

I haven't seen his twitter feed, granted. To your first point, to make that leap would be to conflate "is" and "ought". Yes, many people do make that error, but you can't accuse him of doing it when others do.

Almost all of this is true with single page apps, though. The only added complexity is you have to maintain a frontend state cache (e.g. Redux).

I don't know Angular too well, but React is really just a templating system. It doesn't add much more complexity than any templating system, including those you would necessarily have on the backend in a multi-page app.

It's a bit misleading to say we're adding another MVC app on the client. By adding that complexity, we reduce complexity on the backend. Views on the backend are no longer true views, but rather serializations of the models. An
