A class with mutable fields that a caller can mutate is not immutable.

The other half of this is that the skills required to get past the interview bar are not quite the same skills that would make you a great developer. There is some overlap, but the interview process at Google is a game in itself.

It's an easy mistake to make when you aren't very familiar with the modern recruiting process. It is literally the job of the recruiters to keep the pipeline as full as possible.

The article does indeed seem to use "project managers" and "managers of engineers" as if the terms mean the same thing.

In order to do this, Google would need access to the plaintext of the email message, which defeats half of the purpose of the supposed encryption initiative.

I'm not sure that "size matters" here means "small is better than large". But with a modular design where you can swap parts in and out, how could you ever change the size of your screen if you want a larger phone?

Typically AWS is great at communicating with post-mortems, for example: http://aws.amazon.com/message/2329B7/ In this case, they probably didn't want to be too explicit about the details of patching tens of t

I think the misguiding part (or at least, what the tone suggests) is that the order of events is 1) Amazon downloading and scanning all apps and then 2) looking for AWS credentials in the code.
