When most people hear OO they understand C++... NesTalk is a good, real OO aproach to a machine emulator: http://smalltalkhub.com/#!/~zeroflag/NesTalk

I like it, my local Trello! :) Just one small suggestion, it'd be nice if columns were draggable as well.

All Smalltalk ones are valid code that will be executed though. #ifFalse: is a message that is sent to a boolean and takes a closure as an argument.

These stupid scenarios are direct consequences of software patents. I remember an article that used Haskell to show how absurd software patents are by showing how any piece of software is actually just a mathematical formula that turns some

Unless you're used to the Smalltalk way, you'd never think serializing the debugging context of a running program would have any use at all. I'd never had dreamed it'd be possible to do what I do regularly in my deployed

You forgot Iliad: automagic AJAX, plus clean and short codebase you can read and understand in under a day (vs. thousands of packages in Seaside). There is of course a downside: a really tiny community... took me a while to get used to the

This is valid Smalltalk code, but not the way you'd program a door in Smalltalk. You'd probably prototype this in a Workspace, then create the method suggested above, which would force you to specify keys for the arguments, thus f

But only by leaving the image model behind. There are many Smalltalks without an image actually... GNU-Smalltalk, Smalltalk/X and Amber, for instance. GemStone/S uses a mixture between image and filesystem, so it can'

Correct. Although Smalltalk is generally regarded as the first one because the concept "object orientation" was first used in it. Still, the big thing in Smalltalk are not objects, but messages. That's something many later OO
