Maybe I'm missing some of the math, but the only number this whole article seems to be based on is hearsay Google power usage of "less than 1% of 198.8 billion kWh" Somehow this number gets extrapolated to "Google may be running its entire

This is a good start, but it needs some significant additional features. If it's gonna work in jQuery, it needs more control, specifically JS control. It would be nice to do anything I can do from the buttons from JS, and possibly more. Als

I agree it is nice they are being proactive, however it would have been nice if they gave a little more detail to clarify this was merely proactive, not specific odd activity.

Man, Zoombinis, those were the days. A few friends and I all "played" it in our elementary days; however I am convinced that the lessons I learned there about binary numbers, problem solving, and spacial and mathematical efficiency stick wi

Wait, just by providing the SN of a device you can get them to modify the BIOS? (assuming that is how they would get rid of this BIOS-executed payload) I wonder what else you can social engineer out of them with just SN. . .

Working on a project is the best way to learn for sure, whether your own or another person's. You'll figure out the most important elements of the languages you're working in quickly, and the holes will be filled in over the next few years

Nice writeup. Engaging writing and good idea, ordering it all at once on a story that has otherwise been beat to death. As an aside, I'm surprised at how many of my college friends don't know about the secret menu despite growing up on In-n

You can also ask for double of anything other than the meat for free-including tortillas. Added to this hack gives you a double-sized burrito!

Good writeup on the service. Too bad to hear it won't be continuing. The Daily needs to figure out information archival both in device and on their website.

I feel like this is a little mis-titled. I expected a method to do something to a biometric scanner, or to temporarily alter your fingerprints, not to remove them entirely! Interesting read I suppose, if you're into that sort of thing.

This seems really interesting, and the price is right. Some uses close to my heart could be website wireframing, photography lighting diagrams, drawing out complex math in lectures that isn't easy to type. However, I personally don't have e

I use Backblaze and have never had a problem. Stores versioned files for 30 days, is easy to retrieve, and is pretty cheap. The throttle control is nice as all the way up nearly cuts off Internet access for other users on some connections.
