Odds are those connections weren't sanctioned by the building management and were the result of lax enforcement. There are actually plenty of smaller apartment buildings in the US where tenants could get away with this as long as they

I noticed that too. It also doesn't seem to always know how to map (or remove) certain things, like the hair bun on the input image, to the generated avatars once you get outside of the facial region.

The employee pet name shit is just really tired at this point. It's as bad as the job postings still looking for Rock Stars or Ninjas or whatever. They're not Dropboxers, they're not associates, they are employees. Pretending

How is it to the detriment of the company? I've been a dropbox subscriber I think since they launched. Over the years they've added some nice features here and there, but I feel like at this point they could scale all the way back

For many of the same reasons that birds can land on high voltage lines without risk of being electrocuted. A flying insect has stored voltage with no path to ground, or any point with low resistance and lower potential. When you hit a flyin

I created a Magic 8 Ball out of an ESP32 based touchscreen that called an API for a quantum random number generator so that the response to your question was seeded with the most bestest random number possible.

Most single door fridges are setup so that the hinges are reversible to invert the door opening direction. If you look at the top/bottom edges of your standard refrigerator you will likely see the pre-drilled mounting holes to invert t

I agree (I've posted a similar comment in the past and collected a handful of downvotes). Much like ChatGPT, you tend to see a slight over use of more formal and obscure words and a tone that tends to feel like the topic being discusse

Definitely. Let's say I had all the same holdings as Musk or Bezos, just in much much lower amounts, proportionate to the difference of our net worth. Use Amazon stock as an example. If Bezos indicates a desire to liquidate his Amazon

MIG is really just a glue gun for metal. For things where structural integrity isn’t critical you MIG stuff together by watching a couple YouTube videos and then going at it.

You won’t need to. If it’s a thing it’ll be in 10,000 SEO spam headlines, on every other social media everything and repeated on TV newscasts and 1 out of every 2 podcasts.

What's the motivation for the bogus data? Just adding noise to obscure real vessel activity? Similarly, the entire AIS tracking system needs a layer of authentication. I ran an AIS station for several years that fed data to Marinetraff

This isn't entirely true. Cellphones are actively transmitting and checking in with the towers, so they're pretty easy to track. Walkies transmit sporadically, so they can be tracked when activated. It's not instantaneous, bu

Most blog posts are not deep content though. Even from people that might be considered experts on the topic they are writing about. Deep content is still more the arena of whitepapers/e-books/conference presentations.

I agree, I was looking for the rest of the write up, assuming I had to scroll through more ads or click through to another page or something. That was one of the least informative tech pieces I can recall reading.

It’s plausible to do this on device. We were discussing this product concept 8 years ago at one of the video/AI companies I was at. Between the relatively low res of thermal cameras and the cues you can get from various sensors about o

Other than very small engines most snowblowers and mowers are 4 stroke engines. My last snowblower was 11.5HP, and it could take 90 minutes to clear everything after a decent snow. A battery approach wouldn’t be feasible at this point.
