Could I please ask you to share some of your Terraform files? I'm looking to build a similar setup on my Proxmox cluster, and it would really help to have a template to go from!

The best way to handle this (which is really terrible, honestly, but it works) is to make configdrive2 ISOs locally, and upload those using the API. That is, don't give Proxmox a cloud-init snippet, but rather a fully-built cloud-init

Not really that simple. All the scripts there curl|bash more scripts. If you want to audit the contents you’ll have to follow quite a few.

Maybe your domain isn’t on blocklists, but what about your IP? Assuming you don’t send spam, the question of whether or not your IP is on blocklists is primarily a function of both how long you’ve had your IP address, and how well-behaved i

I’d love to see a project that would do this, but more generally. I don’t use GitLab CI, but I do use a good handful of other file types that essentially inline shell scripts. Dockerfiles, GitHub Actions, and Justfiles, just to name a coupl

While I agree Microsoft probably doesn’t want to buy VMware, they absolutely have a pretty strong “hybrid cloud” solution, which basically means running an Azure hypervisor on your on-prem servers. Really it’s just Hyper-V with extra “cloud

As someone who uses a few remapped buttons and “drag scroll” (i.e., using the trackball as a huge, 2D mouse wheel), being able to do those mappings on the device firmware level is amazing. Applications like Karabiner-Elements and Steermouse

On iOS it’s really almost impossible to type -- in an input that isn’t explicitly defined to allow it. In this comment box for instance, I had to type `- -` (dash space dash), and then delete the space in the middle. I’m not sure if it’s po

> p.s.: I don’t care about power consumption :) Clearly! I don’t know if I’d say it’s “on par” if an Apple A-series part (i.e., low power enough to be shipped in iPhones and not in any of their “serious” computers) is actually getting sl

Huh, I thought people around these parts knew better than to trust some hacked up Windows “distribution.” At that point you might as well just use an illegitimately-activated copy of LTSC — at least you can be sure it wasn’t tampered with.

Am I misreading the financial statement linked by your sibling comment? It looks like they spent in the $250,000 or so range on all salaries combined in a given year, but maybe I’m misreading it.

QAT does support SR-IOV on platforms with IOMMU support, so you can at least delegate access to QAT across multiple VMs. I don’t think any public cloud providers offer this, though.

This is interesting to me for basically the same reason — being able to send and receive ARP messages with arbitrary payloads would definitely make troubleshooting VLANs (and other L2 connectivity) easier!

In my experience (with the beta), live voicemail actually replaces carrier voicemail whenever possible. This means that if you ignore (or even miss!) a call, it’ll record and transcribe the call as a live voicemail anyway. So I’m not sure

It’s not the same service, though. As I understand it, the main reasons people use archive.is over archive.org are because archive.is is more of an immediate proxy/cache/cdn, rather than a long-term archival system that requires a

One way you can get around this and still use 1.1.1.1 for most sites would be to use a local recursive resolver that supports domain name-based upstream overrides such as dnsmasq, and setting that as your local resolver. You can run dnsmasq
