My key indicator is if I scroll right on mobile and see horizontal bleed over. For some reason models still fail at this so it's clearly vibe coded.

I started using Zed as a half measure. I think I'll start using AI for planning and suggested implementation steps. I am seeing non technical people getting involved building apps with Claude. After the Openclaw and other Agentic obses

Oh I didn't realize that was the same year! That was indeed quite a year. The Rest is History podcast on it was quite good.

The US relationship with China is fascinating. My entire life it has both been an economic boogeyman, the nation nipping at our heels, and yet also the manufacturing engine powering everything out companies were creating. Ignoring the one s

I know a number of people who grew up in extreme poverty who are extremely well reasoned here and others who are extremely spoiled and fortunate who would gladly enter into a holy war. I don't think you can quite generalize that much.

As an American I feel like I've been going through a bit of an identity crisis from what I remember growing up. Probably the rose tinted glasses of being a child but being from Florida I always had a sense of amazement and wonder as I

Hmm... Interestingly one does not look at the solutions to de-escalate conflict. Despite the proxy wars we've had a relatively peaceful world since WW1/WW2. Please humor me here, I'm not saying the world is horror free. The e

Not really true for modern cloud architectures. If you have an appropriately tuned Observability stack you're probably pretty familiar with the logs.

So curiously I wonder if it's not that Anthropic/Claude can do this magically. More like can individuals at IBM who are heavy hitters just leave and create their own company and effectively provide these services because AI gives

To be fair the author shows an example of using NixOS. It's absolutely another layer of indirection (probably several) but it does make that usual Linux "fun" less problematic because of its immutable nature and API design.

https://brianjlogan.com I haven't done much with it but my plans are to try and spend more time writing. Haven't even ported over most of my prior content. I've been on the web since I think 2007 learning HTML as

This was a super interesting article for me as I'm working on a prototype software aiming to promote spaced repetition and some newer wave learning science as a common approach to "leveling up" in an age where AI is pushing t

I ran my own home router and I used Kea and Power DNS using Systemd Containers to provide service for my whole home. I was really impressed. I think the folks who put it together did a good job of addressing the major warts of my experience

Why are there so many people making code editors? It seems like we've hit a veritable Cambrian explosion of editors and I don't understand what market signals are being picked up where people find the editors insufficient.

I wouldn't buy a joystick if you're into Flight sims. I'd look into a Hotas setup or a virtual reality setup where the whole cockpit is simulated (VTOL VR). I started out on Microsoft Flight Simulator back in 99-2000. I feel
