Innovation is the commercialization of a good idea. So, the ideas are easy to come by, but combining the good idea and the commercialization is what really makes something innovative.

And animal models of disease (or aging) are much simpler than real life human biology. One big reason being that lab strains of mice (and maybe the rats in this study, too) are inbred and very homogeneous - genetically speaking. So, somet

This kind of gene patent is not relevant for drug companies who are trying to make therapeutic proteins. 1. if the whole concept of a "gene patent" (as described in this article) were shut down then drug companies will still be fine, since

I like that one, too. But then I read the others and they seem to give a totally different picture, like: symmetric pencils falling in space. It is interesting to read how the different physicists visualize and explain this concept.

Then maybe a comment should get a single star if it gets a moderate share (5%) of the total points, or at least 5 pts, whichever is higher. Zero starts would be the default.

I used to be more likely to click a link on Google if the domain name looked more authoritative. So, a lot of those common names with high prices would seem to be valuable for that reason. And, I think Google ranks sites higher if the dom

I tired about 10 random ones and 3 were real links. So are they approx 30% full already of the 4 character urls? I guess you better not shorten a url to a page you don't want to be public, because then the address will be easy to guess.

The patents are for the use of these molecules as drugs in order to treat a disease. That is a very non-obvious and inventive process to figure out which of the 25000 genes in the human body will be useful as a drug - and what the exact co
