Note: while the link above points to a newer standard, the quote has already been present in the one for UNIX 03 it seems: < https://pubs.opengroup.org/onlinepubs/009696699/functions/po... >

That’s the first part, but will the charts work if I override the image name with a non-Bitnami one (e.g. docker.io/library/redis for redis)? Or do they bake in special stuff in their images that their charts rely on?

Anyone know what happens to their Helm charts? As far as I know they remain available but do they work with non-Bitnami images? Can I use the official redis image instead of bitnami/redis with the Bitnami redis chart for example?

That sounds like a good distinction. What are CLI tools that work under macOS but not under Darwin? Shortcuts like `code` or `pycharm` that open graphical apps? CLI tools that come bundled with macOS? Yeah these could use the latter.

I guess I was also confused about the different recovery modes as pointed out by aspenmayer below. I used Shift+Option+Command+R (or hold Option and choose WiFi instead of disk) which is internet recovery using the macOS version that came p

Yeah I remember using BootCamp back then. FreeBSD also works quite well on the MacBook Air mid-2014, but without WiFi. Edit: I didn’t bother to look into wifibox which is a FreeBSD package that runs a Linux VM for the WiFi driver, that coul

There is another one, you can hold Option while booting and it will show disks to boot from. But there is also a SSID dropdown to do internet recovery like Shift+Option+Command+R.

Big Sur Recovery mode works for me with Option+Cmd+R, so if needed I can install that. What I meant is that the other goes into Mavericks Recovery mode. And I’m happy about that actually :-) Edit: if you were referring to Option+Cmd+R anywa

I don’t know, I’ve performed numerous updates from the pre-installed Mavericks (Yosemite, El Capitan, High Sierra, Big Sur are the ones I remember, might be more), but the default recovery still goes into Mavericks for me

The MacBook Air mentioned (2014) will install Mavericks when booted into recovery mode anyway (unless you use Option-Command-R which will give you the newest compatible version which is Big Sur). I did that a few days ago and I agree, it’s

Thanks for pointing it out. Indeed, OpenBSD’s and NetBSD’s `env` does not support `-S`. DragonflyBSD does (as expected). Solaris as pointed out by the first link doesn’t even support more than one argument in the shebang so no surprise that

Should be portable as long as there are no quotes. It’s basically a nop on macOS since in macOS the shebang args are already split by spaces (even when quoted). Edit: further reading < https://unix.stackexchange.com/a/

I wonder whether the path in the robots.txt (or maybe a <link> tag with a bogus rel attribute) would already be enough to make evil bots follow it. That would at least avoid accidental follows due to CSS/ARIA not properly working

Corporate networking is why I still use WSL1 (I didn’t spend enough time to check why it doesn’t with WSL2, zScaler could be the culprit maybe). However it’s not perfect, for example I hit this bug when trying to run node a few days ago ht

I used to be a big fan of easymotion until I discovered that / is also a motion and that with inline search enabled you can use CTRL-G to cycle through results. Example: d / foo, first foo will be highlighted, use CTRL-G to select

You need to be a bit careful with terminology, IPv4-compatible and IPv4-mapped are different, i.e. ::/96 vs. ::ffff:0:0/96. The former (compatible) are not in use anymore, they were specified in an old tunnelling RFC. The latter (

You can opt into most of them by setting LangVersion manually to your preferred C# version. It works since most new C# features are just syntactic sugar which is lowered by the compiler. Some of them require new types in the BCL (e.g. Range

Incremental search in vim is great, you can also cycle through results with CTRL-G/T while typing. This even works as a motion (e.g. d / foo, then ctrl G until you hit the right foo, then enter to delete until there).

It’s about where the error value ends up versus where the success value ends up. With sum types they both end up in the return value and are handled in the same place. Typically you will now try to let the value flow further with the typica

As far as I understand CSP, since it’s set to `none`, no URIs are allowed, not even `data`. Inline scripts and stylesheets are not allowed either, since `unsafe-inline` (or nonces/hashes) is missing.
