While true, in summer travel season more than half the plane will board early when SW allows families with small children to board between groups A and B. There's no real definition of small child and SW will let a party of 8 board ear

Well, for one thing, on many planes the space above FC and whatever their premium economy class is called is specifically labeled for use of passengers seated in those areas. For another, it's just common courtesy. I get if you are boa

For any student who meets the qualifications, it is essentially random. There is a process that seeks to find the best students but it is flawed in the same way the job interview process is. Plenty of exceptional applicants get rejected and

That’s certainly one possibility for “merit” but “merit” could mean lots of things. Stanford goes big into athletics. Perhaps merit could mean they’ll only take students who placed in the top 10 in their state in some athletic competition.

My last two international arrivals back into the US were at ATL and JFK. Both times I had more than a three hour layover. Both times they were boarding my middling group when I got to my gate. Train broke down at ATL. Lines were super long

I’ve seen airports where Clear is slower than Precheck. It’s all dependent on your local airport and the types of travelers it tends to attract. My home airport still has pretty quick Precheck lines. My last flight, I needed to check a bag.

Depends on topography and protections in place. 10 1m waves against a sound 1.5m seawall is no big deal. 1 2m wave against the same seawall could be a problem.

Software wasn't paying astronomical salaries back then but it was paying at least as much as any other engineering discipline. Sometime in the 2000s, engineering salaries stayed normal and software salaries skyrocketed.
