If you're in the US I would consider forming an LLC in your home state and use that as a catch all entity for your projects. If any of the projects take off you can spin that project off into a different entity type (if you want). LLCs

This is a tough position for FB. No matter what they do, half of the the world will think the actions they take are wrong. Most humans are intelligent enough to know that stories like Hillary Clinton running a child sex ring (or whatever) a

It's a local news story posted to HN at this point. Local news always covers these type of events, especially with theatrics like a fireball caught on video. It doesn't seem like something that would become national news based on

Total phase. The "only Mac update for the next 3 years" meme is just fanning the drama flames. Once you back out of HN into the real world the vast majority of people aren't going to hop into a laptop using Linux. Maybe some

One thing is clear to me and that is there will be many wounded companies in the battle for attention. Pro sports and the ancillary industries surrounding it are not immune. Twenty years from now I believe we will look back at this period a

I hate to take away from the complaining in here but I actually think it looks pretty nice. I was pleasantly surprised with the interactions they demonstrated with the new ribbon display. I knew they were going to announce it and didn'

This is nothing but a pirate business model, it's deplorable. Blocking ads alone is pretty bad but wedging yourself into the middle and then collecting a marketplace fee is nothing short of a pirate move.

Truly autonomous vehicles are probably the best and worst thing that will happen to Uber. One of Uber's greatest strength is having all of those drivers, it would be very hard to create a competing service and recruit that kind of flee

You can also avoid rental fees by moving into newer buildings that have in house rental offices. I've never actually had to pay a broker fee in the 10 years / 4 apartments I've had here. Brokers are the worst. Their incentive

Security and reliability could probably be sorted using the Thin Client. For security could that not be done by validating the checksum of client received against some expected value only available on the real server? In terms of reliabilit

I agree with this. I've tried redux-form and just manually handling it with Redux but letting the form data live in the form's component state felt the most clean to me.

I don't trust LinkedIn at all. They are constantly trying to trick you into engaging just a little bit more. One example is iOS accepts of invites to connect. They use cards to show network requests. Once you've gone through the p

I spent some time last year working out a We Work office in NY and I will say one of the best things they did was create nice private bathrooms. Each stall was a small private room in itself, similar to some airport lounges.

This comment also follows a worrying trend: Attempting to put a person down for ones own personal enjoyment while adding nothing to the actual discussion. The original comment was not perfect but it was at least on subject.

Does anyone know the largest net loss a company has ever had for the year prior to an IPO? Uber must be 2 years max from going public and their losses seem to be accelerating[0]. [0] https://www.theinformation.com/ubers-loss
