Or maybe it's not Firefox at all, but rather my Chrome install went better than normal and has resulted in abnormally good performance.

There's a lot of fluff on HN lately, which is why I'm slowly transitioning back to Slashdot (where I was before for about 10 years). While HN has its highs and lows, Slashdot is consistently better.

I'm lamenting the poor performance of the browser. I have nothing but massive respect for the developers. But I marvel at the difference and see that even with all these updates, the gap between Chrome and Firefox gets wider and wider.

Firefox is horribly slow, and I don't even mean in comparison to Chrome. It's slow in its own right. The constant updates? I'm getting used to it (although I can't really tell a difference one version to the next). It's the slowness and the

I know publishers who will actively unsubscribe people who are not opening. Aha! Makes sense. Especially if these publishers offer email marketing as a service to other publishers. I remember hearing that before long ago but it slipped my

I've never gotten a 50% open rate (it's always been in the 10-15 range, and that's for people who voluntarily signed up) and I don't believe most people when they claim they get 50%+ consistently. Funny thing is, most people do make that cl

Unless your getting paid, or you think you'll be getting mad referrals from it, why do an HN logo? Why not do your own stuff? At least get pg to pay you for it. Seriously. He has the money, he should pay for it.

You guys at Buffer get more HN front page action than Techcrunch and Codinghorror combined. What's up with that? P.S. Buffer is a great app, but that's beside the point.

What an excellent idea. I wish this was around when I was learning on Red Hat 5.1. I may still check this out though. I still have lots to learn.

Oh heck, say that then. I understand what you just said there, and I am interested. The existing wording just doesn't make sense (to me) though.

Facebook has been faking it for at least a year. By faking it I mean not growing under their own power. Now "Fakebook" either has to buy users (like the Instagram deal) or its growth is due to mostly fake users with fake likes giving fake m

ProCog is a transparent search engine focused on content and search optimization. Get all the data used by a search engine for ranking and indexing so you can trust the results. What does that mean? I can't make heads or tails of it.

I haven't experienced any kind of friction when it comes to editing files. Springpad is intuitive for me, even on the iPhone.

Yes. I've tried rainmaker.cc and like it, but I have yet to find a service that merges my contacts and auto-updates / helps me update my contacts. I wish you success, and please update HN when you add any new features.

Does this remove redundancies in contacts? Is there plans to enable users to update the contacts like http://rainmaker.cc ?

Springpad http://springpad.com might be the best Evernote alternative I've seen, but they aren't charging money so I'm a little worried about their long term sustainability. Personally, I can't seem to get into Evernote in a serious way.
