So it's like placing bets? This is branded as if it's some new type of stock exchange when in practice it's just another betting platform, no? Other than fancy UI, how is this any different in practice than oddschecker.com or

I never really missed it. If you need it, you can always patch your workspace with edits from another workspace while it’s being reviewed. Or multiple workspaces.

Hah, just today I was wondering how come no ex-Googlers tried to tackle VCS, and now here it is, apparently by ex-Googlers. Dev experience at Google kinda sucks for the most part, but one thing that works amazingly well is VCS. You never

Yes please. I’ve been toying with the idea of making a browser extension that summarizes pages into ~5 bullets, <20 words each. And maybe a picture. Someone please make this. Too lazy to read walls of text. Too lazy to build the extensio

Some solutions are much easier to express in an imperative way. You can still write pure functions and avoid state in imperative code. Use consts, immutable objects, etc. You get some of the benefits of functional programming while still wr

Thanks, I did figure this out eventually, I’m just frustrated that it took me watching the video and scrolling through the landing page for a while until I got it. “Software that sings for you” is a great explanation, which should have been

It took me like 5 minutes to understand what the product does. Why do so many landing pages NOT TELL YOU WHAT THE DAMN THING IS? Are we just expected to know? >VOCALOID6 is an AI-based technology created by Yamaha to fully support the mu

I'm not a hater, I am genuinely curious, how does something like this get to 800 votes on HN and 4.4K stars on GitHub? I mean, it's just... a pub/sub server... using HTTP? With a thin UI for web/mobile? I'm obviousl

Thanks, this was much easier to understand than the original article. What will I use this for? Usually for the “T” to be useful it needs to have some interface. In Java I’d just use Collection<Integer> or something more abstract.

This is why I like DigitalOcean. They have like 4 products, spend 5 minutes on their site and you know exactly which ones you need.

I thought the exact same thing. Relatively to everything else, it almost feels like game developers aren't giving it any attention. Obviously they are, so what is it about NPC animation in particular that makes it so difficult? Even fa

Indeed, it’s an uncomfortable idea but maybe someday we’ll have to accept it. That we don’t know, we’ll never know, we can’t know. I wonder if we’ll be able to prove that we can’t know something. Or prove that we can’t prove it.

Very cool to see this! I've actually given this some thought a few years back when attempting to create (yet another) JS framework, and came up with something very similar to this! For me the difficult part was where the side effects f

What really fascinates me here is the movement of animals. There's this one video of a cat and a dog, and the model was really able to capture the way that they move, their body language, their mood and personality even. Somehow this m
