Does this mean full-time public service workers with pre-PSLF loans, or are the feds debating broadening the scope of loan forgiveness to include persons in other careers as well?

How could it have turned the microwave on? Need more details on the technical implementation. Nice writing though.

"No thumbnails in the file picker" is a longstanding meme, as I understand it. Somewhere there's a >decade-old bug report (feature request?) about it. I don't mind it personally as I happen to be aware enough to be ab

Yes _technically_ you can go into settings and whitelist local IP ranges, on which you can log in with local credentials. But it's not on by default, and you can't turn it on if the Internet goes down and you can't auth with

You should not have to do this at all, and you didn't have to with older versions of Plex. You also used to be able to log into "your" Plex server with a local account, but some years ago it was changed to require authenticat

The Plex software that you'd be running on your local machine (server) is closed-source/nonfree anyway, so yeah. Jellyfin is a much nicer alternative.

I deleted my Google account three years ago and haven't looked back. Email was really the only thing I made heavy use of: Gandi, who I already pay to keep my domain registered, offers 3 GB mailboxes for free. This works fine for me sin

Why even bother using Twitter at that point? This seems wrong somehow. Turn off the computer and go outside. Usually I don't make comments like this but come on. Seriously? If one genuinely feels as though they need this level of advan

I don't like this at all. The Firefox snap has really bad crashing issues, and the filesystem sandbox makes using the file picker confusing especially for my nontechnical family members. I tried using the snap, I really gave it an hone

Thanks for the link. Most of those points are still true, except for the middle three about SMS/MMS. If your distro ships the latest version of Chatty alongside mmsd-tng[0], SMS as well as MMS (both bidirectional) work supremely well,

The original! Very nice program. Nowadays I mainly use Red Moon on Android, and GNOME 3's built-in "Night Light" feature on desktop. I don't use Windows much anymore, but when I do, I run f.lux there.

Thanks for replying. My comment is getting downvoted (rightly so as it's off-topic politicking) but I wanted to have the conversation anyway since somebody else brought up jwz. That is the exact link I was thinking of. Viewpoints like

Emby unfortunately decided to take their code closed-source a year or two ago. Jellyfin is the resulting fork. I will agree that they're pretty good, however Jellyfin has grown to become better in terms of both licensing model and feat

Consider alternatives to Plex (Jellyfin being the main competitor). With Plex, you may own the media, but Plex, Inc. owns the authentication. You're not allowed to access the service running on your own hardware unless you can log in w

I didn't really know why until I read scottlamb's comment, and yours. I think this is the only plausible explanation - someone had a bad experience with a really crappy connector and it stuck.

Consider Jellyfin instead of Plex (doesn't Plex try to push "free" content in addition to what you add to the server?)

This is nonfree, I've used it and found it a little ostentatious for my taste. NewPipe is open-source and the interface makes more sense to me. I think Vanced preserves Chromecast compatibility (correct me if I'm wrong) which NewP

Wouldn't mind this. No OTA means less computers and networked junk in my car that I don't want or use anyway. By all means take the touchscreen and LTE radio out, they mean nothing to me.

My disagreement is purely semantic in nature. I disagree that we can't or shouldn't use the word "censorship" to describe Spotify's actions. The other parts of the parent comment; free market, free will, all parties
