By saying that there is no reason for defense companies to outside of war, you are vastly underestimating the kind of projects they are involved in.

Maybe people appreciate the workmanship that comes with a handcrafted pair of scissors. Maybe it is sharper, better made. You don’t know that. If you are a programmer, how would you feel if I questioned your skills, saying that it should be

You're wrongfully assuming that any other organization would've had the foresight to develop such a program back in the late 1950s, if they were given the budget. NASA wasn't established until 1958.

Did you read the article? Hottot said Kazazi was well aware of those requirements and planned to file his disclosure form during his four-hour layover in Newark. The form instructs travelers to file the paperwork “at the time of departure f

If the woman suddenly walked in front of the car at the last minute, I don't see how the situation could have been avoided, no matter how fast a computer is able to process the information from the sensors. There was also a driver behi

If the autonomous vehicle performed just as well as the human did (meaning a human would've hit her also), then yes although it can be improved, I don't see how it is a problem.

It's not a SpaceX-only scheme, nor is it novel technology. It's got a long history in fighter jets, as well as modern passenger planes for example (Boeing 777). Triple Mode Redundancy: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki

The RAD750 might be flight proven but I wouldn't call it the 'current state-of-the-art' in radiation hardened computing. Its technology is over a decade old.

Most people don't buy expensive screw-on types like these for a one-time event. You buy some solar filter film and fabricate yourself a lens cover out of cardboard for about $10.

This sounds ridiculous. The car's job should always be to protect the occupant of the vehicle. Can you imagine what would happen to a car company if it was known that the car willfully choose to kill the customer if it meant that multi
