That's a good idea. Just bypass it internally and let the switch move freely, doing nothing. They'll learn to leave it alone pretty quickly.

You're right, though sometimes simplicity beats flexibility. It's a lot easier to set it as a standard right at the beginning of the signal chain and frees all the engineers down the line from having to make decisions about it, an

It's weird how some phenomena can act so differently when the only variable you change is gravitational acceleration, even if it's still in a pressurized, oxygenated environment and it seems like a change in acceleration would onl

You can imagine an odd pattern might develop where countries that have high suicide rates seem happier because their most depressed people irreversibly exclude themselves from the surveys. I wonder how strong the statistical effect is thoug

I think a sensor that has 3 sub-sensors that respond at roughly the same wavelengths as our cones, and has each sensor's response curve matched to human perception would be good enough, no? Maybe with a clever algorithm to reduce the 3

I think a large part of empathy is being able to actually feel (to varying degrees) the mental state of another person, and not just being able to construct a logical framework of their thoughts and feelings.

I think you just nailed why judging audio quality is so difficult. You can compare video frame by frame, or look at a still image for as long as you need to, but audio is always disappearing into the past as you listen to it, and the closes
