I think the ipad is best of breed for pdf's and comics. Throw in a retina display or whatever hires equivalent you want to use and it's long form magazine nirvana. Sure it's a rich geeks toy...but what a toy.

As an aside, what is the fist graphic in the posted article? I probably just don't understand the mark, but I interpret that kind of logo with revolutionary, "fight the power" kind of stuff and this is just corporate positioning, not revolu

So why not move even further up the risk chain to all Emerging Markets or invest at greater then 100% equity by using leverage? Fact is, adding a small amount of fixed income investments smooths investment returns and has very little effect

That's a really hideous portfolio assembled from two public figures not known for individual investing. Taleb is a great writer and thinker, but he's a trader and the guy in the article says specifically he's a passive investor. Scott Adams

The reddit link in the post right above yours explains that sort is used to get a reference to the "window" object since sort returns "this" and by assigning it to a variable it returns the default context which in this case is "window".

Glad to hear they've been expecting me, but I'd like to hear at least some explanation of the value I'm going to get before I add my credentials.

Ok, I'll back off. I'll admit a personal dislike to follow up posts to popular content professing "another side". They feel like link bait to me and usually offer something other then "another side" of a topic or statement of fact. Knock yo

you're as wrong as posting about another side. The post is reactionary, rambling nonsense link bait about a statement of fact.

Not every factual statement has another side. Using two spaces after a sentence is an error in usage.

force directed graphs? or confusing eye candy? Maybe you can do a graph visualization of the difference. I think the library looks really interesting.

... Unlike with power or water bills, there's no meter to keep gorgers in check ... I think that statement is a fundamental misunderstanding of the difference between network bandwidth and other utilities.

It's a shame print is a bit of a slump because you can't use the size of tech and tech business magazines as a proxy for a bubble anymore.

The whole "Millionaire Next Door" franchise is a massive example of selection bias. Frugality is not causality for millionaire status. There are plenty of valid reasons to be anti-consumer and frugal, but it might be a less then ideal path

This meme wasn't getting traction after it was pointed out that welfare, as commonly envisioned, doesn't even exist in the United States. Seems to be being retried as cigarettes and food stamps. Let's see if that one sticks.

The easiest rule of thumb is to only eat from the outside edges of the grocery. All of the food that has limited shelf life is there for easy egress and all of the long lasting processed stuff is on the interior.
