I haven’t had this issue at all and I’ve had some of my Philips Hue bulbs for close to ten years. Mind you, one would expect them to work for a long time considering they’re (probably) the most expensive on the market.

All of these are easily faked and/or not able to be shared. You think I can share code from FAANG? Also, hiring is very expensive for those first few months at big tech. It’s also very morale draining to see your peers fired constantly

It depends on how many people he was in charge of. If he’s CTO of 500 people company where only 40 are engineers, you’re not getting past senior manager at faang.

I’d probably go into finance, law, or medicine. Most likely finance. I specifically went away from it due to moral reasons but seems this society has no morals and never will. May as well just plunder the poor.

It’s closer to 0.40-0.70c/kwh. My lowest rate is $0.40c/kwh and that goes away insanely fast just doing almost nothing. PGE is criminally priced in CA. I get maybe 200kwh before it jumps to $0.50/kwh rate and will keep jumpin

I make $400k/yr at faang, I don’t have a cushy house with hvac. My house doesn’t even have insulation. I can’t even park on the street in the city I’m residing in because it’s illegal. Imagine how much worse it is for people who don’t

Even in the top 1% there’s a limited amount of positions. Everyone wants every advantage possible over everyone else. That is how the market is. Even for Stanford students there is a hierarchy.

The reason is because employers are insanely brutal in the job market due to an oversupply of qualified talent. We have more people than we have positions available to work for quality wages. This is why everything is so extreme. Students n

Haven’t seen anyone mention this but this is how it works in China. You have to study the same thing since you were 16 and completely ace it. If you decide during or after college that you don’t like the job path you chose (or really your p

I upvoted the article for the purpose of discussion. I disagree with it. The core tenant of the article is that AI is the reason why companies aren't hiring juniors. That's just not it. Do people just blindly believe whatever some

That doesn’t make sense. In 2024, you could choose any location while matching. You just wouldn’t get any matches if there was no one hiring in that location (or if your profile wasn’t suitable to any, etc.). Your recruiter was being stupid

None of these executives are using data driven decisions. It’s said as much in the memo. It’s vibes based. I suspect there’s more at play with this. Maybe they’re expecting attrition from this and that’s their actual goal. They never reveal

Ego/pet project/appearance of doing something as an executive is probably the main driver. A lot of these decisions have very little quality data behind them.

A ton of teams are already distributed. The RTO makes no sense unless your team is already mostly in one office but that’s not how a lot of teams are. Tons of team are completely split up across multiple states/timezones. I think IG mi

Unless the cars are perfectly washed and clayed, even running a clean finger over a car is likely to introduce scratches. I just wouldn’t ever touch someone’s car. You can look up people even trying to detail their cars to make them cleaner

This depends too much. It’s standard at many stores to have someone who goes out and fetches all the carts. They have to do this anyway because of the cart corrals. This sounds like some idea by a European in some tiny parking lot without t

This didn’t seem to work with a bunch of other startups out there. Carvana, shift, beepi, etc. These startups were all the rage in 2016. I bought my car off of Shift (wonderful experience in 2016) for such a low price that my credit union h
