Money for the plaintiffs should be clawed back from the investors and all the senior management. All the information they collected should be provably destroyed.

There are good JIRA installations, and bad ones. Good ones are speedy and responsive, even if you have a large amount of data you’re working with, and there are lots of tickets in the system. I was on the team that managed one of the JIRA

Everything is a web app these days because many developers are incompetent and don’t know how to do anything else. And that’s only going to get worse as Generative AI comes along to “help” people do development.

Yeah, my wife does that sometimes. Apparently, she’s done it for most of her life, because her family have told me about times when she did it when she was much younger. I think that may just be normal for some people.

I’m curious to know how this compares to other compression tools like brotli, zstd, and xz. I guess I’ll have to include it in my own benchmarking suite I’m developing.

Sadly, modern production building companies are far beyond just “scandalous” or “fraud” or “incompetence”. The competent and conscientious builder is the rare unicorn these days.

Agreed. This is your life at risk. This is the lives of others on the plane at risk. Everything else takes a back seat to those priorities.

When I was growing up, my family always had World Book Encyclopedias. My grandfather was a salesman for them (and later a regional sales manager), so he always made sure we had a relatively recent complete set. I would spend hours and hour

I don’t buy that the volts and amps will always be proportional. In my experience, the volts are usually pretty fixed, depending on the circumstances. Like 120VAC in most homes in the U.S., but variable amps — 15, 20, 30, 50, 100, etc….

I know our roof is in pretty bad shape, and will need to be replaced in five to ten years. The house was built in the mid-80s, we bought it in 2008, and I know it’s had at least one or two roof replacements in that time. Most roofs aren’t

Things that are exposed to the weather frequently need to be replaced more often than every 40-50 years. Like roofs. And cables. And anything that is an external attachment to the structure. You might not have to replace the solar panels

Unfortunately, I think a lot of people don’t really know how much their power costs. They just pay the bill they are sent, maybe even on autopay and they don’t even look at the statements when they come in. So, they don’t know how much the

It’s the amperage that kills you, not the voltage. 5000VAC at a 1.0 nano amps is not going to be something you can feel, not even as something like static electricity.

Haven’t you heard? One dollar == one vote. So, who has all the dollars, and therefore all the votes? If you don’t have any dollars to buy off your entity in Congress, then how are you going to get the laws changed?

This from the same company that insists on auto-deleting all old Slack and e-mail messages, to limit discoverability. And refuses to give you a larger e-mailbox than 4GB, for the same reason. Hmm.
