TSBs are just that, technical service bulletins on how to fix a common issue. There's no requirement for a dealership to perform the TSB on a new car, a majority of cars with outstanding TSBs won't ever experience the problem the

RasPi 4 requires some special files in the EFI system partition and a special non-stock EEPROM, at least for the older RasPi 4 boards, maybe the newer stock come with the UEFI-enabled EEPROM image? Regardless, in my experience with other E

I didn't see any mention of UEFI in my first read through about the Pi 5. Did I just miss it? I would like to have a quiet and reasonably performant ARM aarch64 box at this price point, but only if it supports UEFI without needing to

It depends. If the point of the VC money is to go after enterprise customers and to expand into other enterprisey software security products, then $100M seems reasonable to me, especially for the time when the investment happened. The VC

Nalgene make HDPE water bottles now. They’re really durable. I’ve had two as my daily use bottles for about 4 years and they’re as durable or more durable than the hard plastic Nalgene bottles I used before.

Because the grid needs a very large consumer to stop RIGHT NOW and be under contract to do so when told. To get this contract, the grid promises money. There is no guarantee that adjusting the power cost for a customer will make them stop c

For grid stability yes. The ideal grid stability solution is a customer who can sink AND source large amounts of power for a reasonable amount of time and very quickly. Like a giant battery farm can, although these are quite expensive.

The Watt is a unit of instantaneous power. Watt-hours are a unit of energy.

Presumably the bitcoin miners were the cheapest way the grid operator could buy this stability. If the grid operator chose a different solution to achieve grid stability then power may cost more for all consumers. It’s a trade off.

Grid stability is not free. This concept is not new. Historically things like aluminum smelting had very similar contracts to ensure grid stability.
