Apple does offer about 10% off for bulk discounts (between 5 - 12% roughly). They may have not known, been signed up or just let students choose themselves.

I'm part of a team building distributed crowd funding tools that focus on these problems for independent sellers. Some similarities to Celery, just in terms of product.

Levchin has money in most of the major payments startups so it's interesting to see him launch his own venture. I like the idea but the current site/demo doesn't really feel like the right execution. I suppose I should get to know it before

They send me so many emails. It's a joke, I probably put in a fake number but I hear they also call a lot of people. Offer a free 'data t-shirt', make you install their product and call/email you constantly.

This is absolutely interesting but I'm not sure if post-Kickstarter you'd regain a target goal or some of other same functionality. Rather you may want to be able to pre-order with a different model. Like Pebble took with their website.

This is great to see. I'm working on something similar which has a few more features is focused on integrating into other brands websites or social networks. I think this is going to be an exciting arena with a lot of market potential. The

Wow! So smart this is something I do when coming up with domain names but nice to simplify it, making it incredibly faster.

Either TechMeme got it wrong or the story was edited to remove it but the TechMeme quote includes "YCombinator" in that list. http://www.techmeme.com/130108/p31#a130108p31 Edit: Now says "(including, previously, Y Combinator)"

If you're bootstrapping a SaaS then you're probably right. If you're building something big, like a Square, BankSimple, Spotify, etc then your chances of success drop considerably. Especially on the raising money front. It's a really odd te

Yes, I paid slightly more than I probably should've for a domain (no-where near this much but in terms of how important it was) and it'll hinder you from making future pivots or product changes which could be bad. When looking for domain na

I haven't gone to College, I've gone out from High School and started building a startup. Doesn't apply so much to me because when I wasn't working in school I was up all night getting a few hours of sleep after working on projects.

I agree with many of the points being made but I don't believe that we're actually in a bubble. Speaking to serial founders and investors it's actually a much tougher time to raise money right now than six months ago. There was no pop, just
