Not a neuroscientist either but I would imagine that raw data without personal information would not be useful for much. I can imagine that it would be quite valuable if accompanied with personal data plus user reports about how they slept

I love emacs but would never compare that with a Michelin meal! On the contrary, emacs is the DIY option that lets you experiment with whatever ingredients you please without judging your choices!

FillC works fine with all C code no matter how low level. There’s a small performance overhead but for almost every scenario it’s an acceptable overhead!

Op saying Rust has a kind of GC is absurd. Rust keeps track of the lifetime of variables and drops them at the end of their lifecycle. If you really want to call that a GC you should at least make a huge distinction that it works at compile

It was competing with C and Java when it came out. People who like C will not use a language with garbage collection, even one that allows you to not use it. Against Java, it was a losing battle due to Java being backed by a giant (Sun , th

The same anticipation of great things happening preceded the arrival of widely available internet, but all we really got was cat videos initially, and doomscrolling more recently. I don’t have much hope for great things anymore.
