I like how juniors are 10-12+ years lol This may be true, but again these are outliers - most people here are not cranking down 400K. Netflix hires the best of the best so these people are the top 10% of engineers probably... Not the avg

Its not true. Most engineers are in the 150-200K range at the most. It is true that some companies like Netflix do pay much more, but Netflix goes for the best of the best. This is the not the majority of engineers. So realistically if y

Yep - biggest key is stay current. Change to new langs / systems if needed so you can stay in the "the most desirable" camp. Don't marry yourself to a technology. This is especially critical IME as you get over 40. I

I agree its memorization, but the scenario questions that have compound answers are in there too to get beyond memorization. I'd say the progression of difficulty is Dev (lots of memorization and T/F) --> Solutions Arch -->

Agreed. This would also reduce mid/large enterprise worries regarding adoption (or investigating the tech for possible adoption). Being on the upgrade train several times a year is too probably much for them...

Another interesting factoid I gathered from this is the "avoid ageism" tip about removing dates from graduation + only list last 10 years of job experience. I've always suspected it, but this supports it as a reality. Sad r

For TF, I found it easy to work with and also cloud agnostic (nice bonus). So you only have to learn one tool instead of one for each cloud provider (Azure's Resource templates , AWS's CloudFormation, etc). Also it seems to have

A good strategy is to use both (these are complementary tools) - one is stronger for config management (Ansible), the other for provisioning infrastructure (TF). Build and manage the infra itself (instances, security groups, VPCs etc) wi
