Agreed, it's a tough situation. An important question is this: are the big three on life support anyway and close to death? If so, giving them bags of cash may only extend their life a few more years before they crash and burn. Then we (the

I'm always in the middle of learning a new language or framework, and the general pattern is always the same: Read a bunch, get a project idea, start hacking on it to practice "muscle memory", use reference documentation a lot, go back and

Does anyone have a link detailing the exploit? I'm not a DNS expert, so something easily consumable would be great.

Great article. I think it's an opportune time for entrepreneurs that are willing to look past, "Woe is me, look at the economy," and are willing to search for opportunity!

The key part of the article is this: "But you have to go look for those and that takes time and smarts." If you don't have those kind of resources (the smarts is the tough one to find), hardware becomes much more efficient.

Hopefully, it won't require developers to use a specific language or framework. An interesting alternative idea might be to create a cross-platform "app store" written in AIR that delivers cross-platform AIR apps.

Agreed. It always annoys me that I have to reinstall my OS every six months because of the crap I end up downloading.

I had to look it up: UX is User Experience. I'm embarrassed I didn't know -- but I am all the wiser now.

Go to conferences and shake lots of hands. You don't need 150 clients, you need 1 or 2 great clients. Like dating, it's a numbers game. I don't think you have to push your RoR experience, since many business owners won't get it. Find out wh

I spend nearly everyday in a cafe doing part of my work. I really enjoy the time sucking down a coffee and people watching when I'm not hacking. It has stayed busy here, I couldn't even find a table when I came in for lunch the other day. I

The other day I thought it would be nice if desktop browser easily did what iPhone's browser did. Zooming into to parts of a page with a double-click would be really nice on those late nights where everything is getting blurry. (Yes, I know

Often, I've thought that it would be really fun to invest a very small amount of money into a start-up, say $25 to $50. Even though I wouldn't have any delusions about a real ROI, it would be fun to be part of the "insider's circle", such a

Damn impressive. Make sure you hit up the site's homepage and look at the 4 demos they have available. I don't know if you can really do GrandCentral in 15 lines, but the examples they provide get the mouth watering.
