I've submitted maybe 75 FOIA requests without a journalist exemption of any kind in the past two years and haven't had to pay a cent. Submit some damn FOIA requests!

That's what happened to me. I got into a very good position in my career.. and then it crashed. I'm more skilled than I've ever been, but finding work that matches my (broad) skillset is almost impossible because I'm eit

In an odd way, thank you. This is a very difficult subject to discuss and it's very useful to read confirmations of these thoughts. I had a conversation with a hired-gun researcher to find information on politicians to help others win

There's a middle ground. I'm fine with tons of configuration, but at least make some sane defaults or prompts so that I don't have to read a giant wiki to do an initial setup. Everybody initially runs through it, so why not s

Start by whipping out clever FOIA requests to find information on it. Dig, dig, then dig more. Find a pro bono lawyer who can do a FOIA suit on your behalf. You'd be surprised by how much information you can get so long as you're

For some of us, syntax highlighting DOES make code more difficult to read. We're all different. I learned most of what I know on a Solaris 9 machine on a CRT with a model m back in 2008 with zero syntax highlighting, in vi and without
