Thanks for the link. I've been struggling recently in trying to explain a lot of ideas that seem to coincide very tightly with cybernetics. This gives me so much to read on! :)

Absolutely. Back when I first started doing FOIA requests, everything was anonymous. Not necessarily because of paranoia, but because it gave me a calm peace of mind after submitting requests. After some bogus FOIA redactions and misinterpr

I understand what you mean, but calling it an accident of history is a pretty strong minimization of what amounts to applied philosophy towards genuine innovation. When I talk about information theory, I'm talking more about the more g

And calling philosophy navel-gazing is navel-gazing. The philosophy of information is a great example of where it's incredibly important [1]. I seriously, seriously doubt that information theory would have come about without many of th

Agreed on leaking information. It make total sense why they wouldn't want the participants to get access to the data. Though, when I found that out, I did some naive scans to see if they had any public webservers that would have the re

This might be true. When I worked at a helpdesk, I was given praise for having the fastest call times on the floor. In the same review though, I was critiqued just as strongly for not being personal enough. It was and telling.

This matches my experiences in Chicago. A FOIA request got me all of Chicago's parking ticket data from Jan 2009 to March 2016 and I did some quick awk commands to find the most ticketed spots. I found some pretty interesting ones and
