Hmm, the BBC coverage is actually more informative: https://www.bbc.com/news/uk-england-wiltshire-67336495 but I can't edit the submission URL.

I felt the first season primarily mimicked The Soul of a New Machine. Taken from that angle, I found it quite good. Amusingly, when I read that book, I mistook it for fiction. Kidder's narrative non-fiction style was so detailed I assu

As Bryan mentions in https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=37880669 , I would read Matt's post-Intel and post-Google write up of why Intel didn't really invest. https://pharr.org/matt/blog&#x2

Sure, but you should still keep the concepts disjoint. "I took whatever I could get" isn't the same as "spot instances are inconsistent".

I had (have?) a side project to build a self-hostable Mint/PersonalCapital/whatever on top of ofxtools. The basic idea would be full control of your credentials, so you don't have to trust a third-party like Plaid or Yodlee.

Yes, at 1% margin on those sales, that's more like $125M in revenue. It's important to remember that things like Prime Day are basically marketing that results in revenue outside the event.

Try Mama Ji's, Mister Jiu's (upscale) or Mamahuhu (casual). The mapo tofu at Mamahuhu is great, but be prepared for the spice. Edit: looks like the author included Mister Jiu's :).

Yep. This was going to be the next phase: there isn't anything special about the SI system, but it is consistent. The poster didn't seem prepared for "or any other velocity units you want". For the original poster, you c
