You are asked before the first time any application is allowed to use your current location. So, this point is ridiculous.

This is really a misunderstanding of "looking nice" and usability. This app doesn't look nice, but if it was an incredibly usable app with an ugly background color and ugly custom buttons, that would be somewhat understandable (I say somew

WebObjects was way too far ahead of its time. You're absolutely right that so far Apple has contributed very little to the web app space. We'll have to see what happens in the future.

All I can suggest is, do everything you can to get them to give you a number first. Otherwise, you're just bidding against yourself. It can only hurt you to give a number first.

Apple is not that important. Seriously. Even with a mere 10% market share, Apple is so incredibly important. Since 2000, they have continually set the standard in industrial design across the electronics industry (and even beyond it). B

Cocoa was designed from the ground up to build GUI applications. Java certainly can't claim that. Cocoa was designed 20 years ago at NeXT, and in all that time, it has barely changed. Interface Builder is an incredibly powerful tool. Coc

I don't really think web apps have to look like desktop apps. But I think any such discussion also required a bit of consideration of what counts as a web application, and what is just a web site. Objective-J and Cappuccino (and SproutCo

I don't think there is one specific metric. It seems like SVN commits would be more accurate than LOC, but when I hear numbers like that, I begin to seriously doubt it. You have to take a lot of things into consideration when trying to me

If you're planning on a career in programming, I'd recommend trying to get an internship somewhere before you graduate. If you think you might want to start a startup, go that route, but it won't hurt to do an internship at a big company e

Amazon MP3 is worse than the iTunes store in every way except price. Amazon is competing almost solely on price, and they're losing. I think one of the reasons is that when something is that cheap already (99 cents), saving 10 or 20 cents
