There is a large class of applications for the phone that do not need to be native. I'd guess (unscientifically) that its about a third of the apps on the app store, and probably growing.

More than you think. I know of at least three. Counter-argument is, how many single founder companies do you know that are successful?

Old phones. iPhone, Android -- these are the phones of the future. In three years, most people will probably have WebKit or Gecko running on their phone. The iPhone is already the best selling phone in the US.

I'm not sure what you're trying to say. You seem to be saying that investors won't fund companies that both make something people (want), and who work hard, and implying that YC also has that problem. But, YC is almost always investing in c

I guarantee you this article had zero impact on whether or not Apple removed this "feature". I'm also reasonably sure they'll fix the bug in short order.

I can say that in my experience interviewing potential candidates, everyone I worked with generally hated lengthy resumes, but I was the only one who cared enough to dock people for them. It's not that important, but ultimately, a concise

In the U.S. (and many European nations?, but not Germany or France), typefaces cannot be copyrighted, but fonts can. The distinction is that a font is the digital representation of a typeface. Although some fonts have received design patent

The difference is that by distributing the actual font file with your website, you're creating a copy of the font. The end user can install that file, and then use the font like any other on their system. In the magazine example, you're onl

IE's current support is limited to the EOT format I believe ( http://ajaxian.com/archives/the-fight-for-fantastic-fonts-or... ), which is almost completely unused in the real world. There would need to be a lot more work done in this area t

Unfortunately, its a copyright violation to embed fonts. I'm surprised Firefox decided to implement the ability to embed fonts, but I'll be far more surprised if Microsoft decides to. And, if they don't, embedding fonts will remain somethin

Well I think its worth noting that the framework's only been out for about a month. Only so many people will have had time to even take a look at Cappuccino yet, much less create something new with it. Not to mention, 280 Slides is, as you

I guess I don't really understand the question. You're loading text based content, and an image, and you want to know whether or not to get everything in one XMLHTTPRequest, or to load two separate XMLHTTPRequests? Why do you need a request
