It's such a shame we used them all on livestock. We raise around 60 billion land animals every year and probably more than 90% is being given last-line-of-defense antibiotics for faster growth. Perfect pool for some unbelievable evolut

It does. left-to-right linear time parsing is the idea that's about 15 years old and turned out to be most efficient and most performant.

I used this to memorize/train problem solving (applied to compsci problems). I solve a problem at SPOJ [1], Codeforces [2], or project euler [3] or other similar sites. Put it as a card in Anki and revisit it after it appears again. So

Milk cows carry a baby every year which puts more pressure on metabolism needs. Milk is more energy and water inefficient than meat ( same scale comparison).

I'm vegan but I'd never make stuff up. Notion of food being unhealthy or healthy is borderline orthorexic. Saying that red meat is unhealthy is vague. There's no concept in science that categorizes food as either healthy or u

why not flowtype/typescript+js es6+react+redux/mobx? currently a pretty nice reactive mobx-state-tree is on the frontpage of hn.

As much as media and schools indoctrinate the idea that papers waste most trees, it's not true. The biggest percentage of Amazon rainforest deforestation is for the livestock industry. The beef that USA and Europe gladly import, and th

Methane is about 25-100 times more potent than CO2. Nitrous oxide about 300 times than CO2. Although, the biggest worry is the stored methane. [1] The amounts stored are equivalent (in CO2) to about 20-35 years of human activity (2014 CO2 o

Never said I consider a Soylent only diet proper. I have no opinion on that. Milk is in our diet for several thousand years, not millions. 1. There's also a lot of people who ate balanced meals and kept weight. Drinking that much milk

I've dropped the idea that IGF response is something I need in my life. Milk is ideally formulated to feed babies that need to grow into gigantic beasts. It is also a very inferior product made with zero genetic engineering. Just silly
