I have worked in a German bank and the bundesbank does regulate on very high-level decisions. f.e., systems which do financial crime monitoring need to be compliant with their rules. Access to pre-production should be limited.

Why should US even be compared to those countries. It is a functional and mature democracy. Going through the thread I find it shocking that police brutality and unaccountablity is a common thing in USA.

People who think Govt hospitals are not doing a bad job should at least visit a Govt hospital once. Govt. hospitals in india are pathetic. I have first hand experience with Government general hospital, Nellore.

I work in India, where my we service ATM's for a nationalised bank. While these run on XP, we are advised to install all security updates. I read in the thread somewhere that they use satellite network so windows updates cannot be sent
